Well today marks our 2nd anniversary travelling on the road!!! Life couldn't be better. Marty and l are so in love again, feels like we are teenagers. The week on, week off of Marty doing FIFO has made us appreciate each other in a whole new way. It's happiest we have been as a couple in a very long time, if not, the most in our life together. Charlotte and Meg are happy, school is going well and they are having the best of both worlds with friends at school, then playing with everyone back at the caravan park when they get home. Our dreams are coming true and after two years on the road we are looking at the brightest future. Marty and l have decided that we will travel indefinitely with no end date in sight. That's enough reflection......all is perfect!
The Geraldton stop is still going well. Still adjusting to Marty doing the FIFO gig, but l'm sure it will get easier. On the positive note, the girls and l are having a good time finding our own routine together. We work well as a team and thank god the girls are busy at school as they don't tend to miss Marty too much except on the weekends.
Daddy loves his welcome home cuddles! |
It has been the month of catch-ups with having seen the Ellis's not long ago, just saying goodbye to the Perkins again and, for both families, we wont see them on the road anymore. Next time we see them all it will be calling into their neighbourhoods to say g'day, both are on their way home for good.....
We have also been blessed to have this awesome couple, Jack and Julie, living next door to us. They absolutely adore the girls and have become surrogant grandparents to them. Julie has been teaching Boo to sew which she is totally fascinated with. The girls are often over at Jack and Julie's having a chat or feasting on something Julie has found in the cupboards. At the end of the day, its great to sit down for happy hour with them and have a laugh, such genuine and loving people.
I have now started at the Greenough Regional Prison which is definitely a new experience. I can't believe how scary it is walking into a prison, and even handling the 'grill' keys is overwhelming. Very daunting to begin with as its a completely new system to what l am used to working in. You can't walk thru a door without unlocking and re-locking it. Security is a must. No recording devices are allowed in, not even a USB stick! The nursing staff at the prison are unique, haven't met anyone quite like them. Will have to wait and see how this place turns out thats for sure, between the work, staff and facing criminals, it has been very overwhelming. Haven't felt this much out of my depth since when l started nursing over 12 years ago!!!
On a positive note, the Woodies have arrived! Great to see them all again, the two Charlottes are inseparable and Jake and Meg are getting on well. They're almost like siblings with the closeness they have with one another. Cant believe this will be the third work stop with Amanda and Mark, surely they're not stalking us!!! Have noticed since the Woods have arrived that we haven't seen much of the Cronans, hopefully the three families together won't cause too much drama or shift in the dynamics?!?!?!
Well with 2 years under our belts on the road, we can say that we have most definitely done the right thing for our family. We are in love, happy and wealthy in every sense. Here's to another brilliant year to us!!! Thought l would leave you with some stunning views of sky delights we have marvelled in with the 'Gero' sunsets!
