"Three girls, a man and a caravan".: Bye bye Singapore.....Hello Thailand!!!

Waking up on our last day in Singapore, we were all both excited and sad at the next leg of our overseas adventure. We had really enjoyed our time in Singapore, even though jam packed and no time to chill, it is such a colourful and beautiful city with loads to explore. We awoke late and headed down for our last buffet, stuffing our faces once again before heading back to our room to chill and watch a movie. Our flight wasn't until early arvo, so there was no rush to check out. We all enjoyed the laze around time, but before we knew it, it was time to head out and make our way to the airport.

Singapore Airport is such an easy airport to get around, even though it is one of the biggest we have been through. It is well signed and there is always someone to assist you if you need help. The train line between terminals is so reliable, makes for an easy time to explore the airport. We decided to stop off at Burger King for a quick bite to eat before our flight, l think l'm the only one who is sick of fast food type meals already!!! Our flight went all smoothly and was over before we knew it, only being an hour and a half, the girls didn't even have time to get thru a movie!! lol. I gladly got a window seat, absolutely one of my favourite things to do to pass the time on a plane, to watch the clouds and float thru them...

Incoming Thailand views....

When we arrived in Thailand, we instantly knew we were back in a poverty city just after using the public toilets!! It was an easy transition from the airport to resort. The taxi area is well signed and they all charge the same, so no need to try and barter. We caught a taxi for 900 Baht from the airport to the Karon Centara Resort. Initially l thought the rate was a bit pricey, but after an hour into the drive, l now knew why it was that price. It was beautiful driving thru the lush tropical landscapes, rolling hills and then seeing the white sandy beaches and turquoise water on the horizon. The traffic wasn't too congested either, until we got into the central towns. We arrived and checked into the Karon Centara Resort, all again going very smoothly. The staff were friendly and helpful, we even got a cart ride up to our room, a Tropicana room. Meg was so excited to see that we had a bath! The room was nice, a little outdated but still a good size with two double beds and had small pool views from our balcony. It was hot, but thankfully, not as bad or humid as Singapore.

It had been a long day and all the girls could think about was having a swim. We thought we would go and check out the pool party and grab a feed down there at the same time. The girls had a blast getting involved with the wrestling game while Marty and l had a few quiet beverages seeing it was 'happy hour', buy two get one free! We met a young couple from South Africa who were on their honeymoon who gave us some tips about what to do and what to avoid which was really helpful, plus a few good nearby eateries to try. We also saw that we would have to be very conscious on applying sunscreen seeing they looked like boiled prawns, a lovely shade of pink!!! lol. We were all a bit stuffed so headed back to the room to settle down for the night....
